Hello Hello!
HI di HI neighbourinos!!!
sorry for not being a good blog sitter til now, I’ve had no computer at home *frownie* - so no access to the top of the world.
Hi Jenny! thanks for the postcards – love em, wish I was in your suitcase!!
In case you’re wondering about the name, initially I was pondering (after having been a recognisable name / face from blogland into local meatspace) whether I had begun to censor myself because of the interactions going from cyber to meat. So I wondered if the incognition would see a new and freer form of blogness arising from my tippy typing fingie tips.. or not - who knows?
So to start off from the back foot due to not being able to sit and ponder with anymore depth has challenged that ponderance before it has even begun – bugger!!
There’s more on my mind though… with the death four weeks ago of my partner’s father, the funeral, ensuing outlettings of feelings long repressed, and then a week ago my partner was involved in an RTA that wrote of his car completely. So we’ve had injuries, costs, and a need to find a new form of transport for him to get to work every day. My job is a suckfest atm, and I’m attempting to disassociate from the suckiness enough to plan a next move with positivity and progress in mind… rather than just a reactive “Fuck YOU!” and walking out …
I think I can manage that, don’t you?
til next time … possibly with a tad more rationality… bye bye blogpeeps!

Welcome Home (Soon)!
Ok, so I don’t know that Jenny & M are actually home yet but they’ll be home soon so I thought I would take this time to bid everyone a fond farewell since my time here is up. I had fun guest posting and will knock on Jenny’s blogdoor when I need someone to do the same for me.
But I still have one more post left in me:
Ah, Thursday night drinks… always fun! We found a new bar in Hell’s Kitchen called The Joshua Tree Bar (Westside). It was very nice but I noticed that the happy hour crowd was a little later arriving than, say, the bar across the street from my work. And to be quite honest, I missed my usual bartender, Rich. He’s so friendly and he always gives us discounts on drinks and sneaks us free food. Unfortunately, Thursday night dinners usually include whatever food that particular bar offers. Last night, I had calamari, mozzarella sticks and onion rings - yes, onion rings. I’m married, I have no one to impress.
Right, well, I hope everyone has a wonderful & safe Halloween! And don’t forget that it’s sometimes fun to trick as well as treat…

Monday Night Drinks Makes for a Long Week
What’s a girl to do when her neighbors drag her off to their favorite watering hole? I drank (a good bit), sang, danced & flirted my little heart out in that gay bar last night. Happy hour ended at 8 so we were home at a decent 10 pm. And I don’t what it is but Scott (my 6-foot plus neighbor) loves to pick me up while we dance. Today, I have quite the headache and my legs hurt. Luckily, my boss is out of the office today so I’m hoping for a nice quiet day of surfing the internet.

Guest Posting from NYC
Hello all! I’m Yayaempress & I was asked to guest post for Jenny while she and M are on their trip to visit the most expensive cities in the world. Here in the Big Apple, we’re all gearing up for the big Halloween Parade down in the Village. This year, I’m going to be a soda shop waitress complete with the same stockings in the picture on the link. Not sure what the hubby (Chris-the-Great) will be. He’s thinking of being a snake oil salesman or something along those lines.
I’ve been on the hunt via the internet for an awesome design for my next tattoo. I think ever since shows like TLC’s Miami Ink and A&E’s Inked came on the air earlier this year, I’ve really been thinking about getting more work. I’ve already got a fleur-de-lis on the small of my back and I got my belly button pierced a little over 2 weeks ago. So I’ve been scouring this website, Salon Serpent, and they’ve got some really good stuff up. If you’re into tattoos, check it out.
Other than that, not much seems to be happening in this corner of the world. It’s getting colder which means I’m thinking of setting up some time with my friends at this bar down in the West Village called Down the Hatch for some $20 all you can drink draft beer & all you can eat hotwings. We get there around Noon (special starts at 1pm) to get a table, take out the cards and start drinking. It’s great to do during winter when you’ll be in doors all day anyway. Might as well be drunk, right? Right.

So long, farewell…
Oh dear god….I went frolicking about town last night with some friends and am now feeling a tad bit seedy as a result of my overindulgence. However, I did have a great time watching a drag queen show and carving the dance floor up with some fabulous gay boys who were so happy that I, and I quote, was a “fun lesbian”..I think they were a bit surprised to see that I could actually dance haha. Anyway…I finally crawled into my bed at about 3am and defintely thought about calling in when my alarm went off as I thought I was going to puke all over myself. But here I am, all glassy eyed and feeling like I swallowed a furball….my inbox is overflowing and I have about 10 unchecked voice mails. Officially I’m a waste of space.
On that note, I’m signing off…it’s been fun and I hope I haven’t bored you too much
Bye bye

I just ate a huge cookie and now I feel sick…
I turned 25 about 10 days ago and I’m finding it difficult to write that on things that ask for my age…it looks weird and I’m also not liking the fact that I’m now in the 25-34 age bracket…..I know it’s not a huge deal but I just feel that I’m not quite where I was hoping to be by the time I reached this age….the best remedy for this, I’ve discovered, is to spend a Friday evening with similarly age friends (and older) carving pumpkins and having a slumber party! Who says it’s only for kids!
So last week this is exactly what I did. It was the most fun I’ve had sober in awhile, not counting the recent haunted house and corn maze adventure which was complete hilarity.
Carving pumkins is hard work…we were at it for hours, amidst the usual banter, and here is my final product

I accidently cut off the cat’s (on the far left) other leg and tail…..details details…
In other news a co-worker of mine seems to find it necessary to come into my office and show me the hole in his jeans which just so happens to be right on his ass…..

A slight interruption…
Hey everyone! We’re in NYC at the moment, resting our weary legs in the hotel for a while before heading out again.
So far the holiday has been fantastic, and visiting the most expensive cities in the world before coming here has made NYC seem quite cheap… until we looked at our credit card statement. Yikes.
We have two more nights here, and then we’re going to Los Angeles. We’re meeting up with fashmagslag tonight, which will be great - I’m looking forward to meeting one of my international blogger friends!
Only 11 more days of our holiday left until we go home - doesn’t time go quickly. Still, it will be nice to get back and see our cats again, and make sure the house hasn’t burnt down or anything.
OK, off I go again! Thanks to my guest bloggers, and to their readers who have come over here to read their posts, and also to my readers who haven’t abandoned me yet
You may now comment in order to make me feel loved and missed.

Hello from Chicago
Hello visitors to Jenny’s Blog. My name is Nicole and I will be your host for the next week
This will be a short post today as it’s almost 1pm here and I’ve yet to do any actual work. Oops. Reading blogs and emailing tends to allow the mornings slip by. As I mentioned in the title I live in Chicago but was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. I’ve been here for the last 7 years and am currently working at a law firm that I hate….oh well, it’s a means to an end. The big news around town at the moment is that the Chicago White Sox are going to the World Series. I’m completely indifferent to this as I’m a Chicago Cubs fan and refuse to jump on the band wagon
I also object to the term “world series” but I don’t feel like getting up on my soap box about that right now.
Anyway I must be off to do some work..maybe I will go to lunch first..haha. I hope Jenny and M are having a great time in London!
I promise to have something more interesting to say tomorrow
Oh…and Happy Birthday to my Mum

Farewell Friday
Oh man, felt like just yesterday when my week of guest-posting began. And now it’s almost over. Well, it’s certainly been interesting, this blogsitting business. So nice of the loyal readers to come and visit here! I’m throwing another virtual shrimp on the barbie for you guys. Wish I had something more interesting to write about, but all you’re gonna get is the PEZ mp3 player. Sweet!

Thursday Already?!
Holy schmak, I’ve been letting the week get away from me. I wanted to do more posts, but darn it if I wasn’t crazy busy at work all this week. Anyhoo, watched my first “real” episode of LOST last night. I’ve watched all of season 1 on DVDs and a friend recorded the 1st 3 eps from season 2, so I could get caught up. And you know what, last night’s eppie was kind of disappointing for me. It was still good, but not as good as some of the other eps. The Hurley flashback was so-so, and the ending’s usual kumbaya moment was too extended. Gotta give props to Hurley though for his Korean–his accent was actually better than the real Korean dude’s when they first started. But his whole angst about people “changing” in the face of an unexpected windfall wasn’t very compelling to me. And why would his friend all of a sudden be all shocked like that after finding out Hurley had won the lottery? I’d think he’d be a lot more happy and excited for him.
It was nice finding out that those crazy “others” on the beach actually turned out to be the tail section passengers (who seemed to have had a harder time of it than the middle section passengers), but the revelation that the old white dude was Rose’s husband, Bernard, was like, eh. So I guess Ana Lucia became a sort of de facto leader because she’s all tough? She was either a cop or drug dealer in her other life–she looked like she knew her way around a gun. And it looks like her group found another “hatch” early, but I guess that one doesn’t force them to do the number typing-in thing? Still a lot of mysteries to unravel, so I’ll keep tuning in… It’s been so long since I’ve seen a show on regular broadcast TV–all the ads were driving me nuts! I don’t have Tivo or anything, so I had to sit thru them. I read somewhere just recently that there are like 16 minutes of ads for an hour show on network TV? Gad, that’s insane! Good thing this is the only regular prime time show I’m watching.
One more thing: just read that the guy who plays Sawyer on Lost was robbed at gunpoint in his own home in Honolulu–man, that’s gotta suck. Of all the guys on the show, I guess he’s the one I find most attractive, even though he reminded me all too much of Kid Rock when the show started. He comes across as a total asshole in the beginning, but as you get to find out more about him, he turns out to be only about half asshole. He gets all the funny lines and I like his dimples
Jack’s too sensitive or something. He’s got the messiah complex and he really does cry too much.
