I made some chocolate chip cookies today. I’ve been meaning to make some biscuits for ages, but until today hadn’t got around to it. I think they turned out ok - they have a weird consistency though.

They came out of the oven quite soft, and I assumed they’d get harder when they cooled. They did firm up a bit, but they’re not crunchy… they’re sort of like cakey-biscuits. Which I actually don’t mind. I might try a few recipes to see which one I like best.

What is with the pissy recommendation of chocolate chip amounts in these recipes? I ended up using the whole packet - using 100-200g (as the recipe stated) would have meant too sparse a distribution of chocolate chips for my liking.

To the person who found my blog using the search ‘big tit women playing volleyball pics’ - if you found the site you were after, could you please let me know what it is?

Thanks.

I don’t understand the whole Oprah thing. Why do so many women hang on her every word as if she’s some kind of higher being? I caught the last part of her show today while I was flicking between that and The Young and the Restless, and there was a woman on there who was complaining about the products in the gift shop, that the sweatshirts were daggy, there weren’t any magnets or cups you could buy etc.

So Oprah agreed that that was true, and then brought out some women, modelling the new range of Oprah merchandise - pyjamas, t-shirts and other stuff. When she said that each member of the audience would get one of the new design Oprah t-shirts, they screamed with glee and broke into an ovation. Que?? It’s a t-shirt!!! I really don’t get it.

I borrowed some videos last week that I thought might give me some help with my assignment, and since they were only 1-week loans, they were due back 2 days ago. Since I was sick on Tuesday, I called the library to ask if I could get them extended because I wouldn’t be able to come in to return them. The lady said there was no problem with that, and so that was cool.

When I hung up I thought, ‘I hope she extended all of them…’ and thought that maybe I should call back to check. I then realised that that was probably ridiculous, since I’d said at the beginning of the phone call that there were 3 videos, and she said that they were now due back in another week, so there shouldn’t be a problem, right? Usually I’m quite paranoid with things, checking and double checking to make absolutely certain that everyone involved knows what’s happening, but this time I thought I should just get over it and let it go.

Well I got an email just then saying that I had an overdue item - the woman didn’t extend one of the videos. Grrr. I rang the library and sorted it all out, but it made me wish that I had checked. I’m a bit anal when it comes to paying bills, returning library books etc, and the thought of having an overdue item is abhorrent to me!

I’m at home again today. I wouldn’t have gone yesterday, but I had to pick my car up from the mechanic. Fortunately it’s still under warranty, so I didn’t have to pay for anything. They said they put a new fan belt on it, so hopefully the embarrassing prolonged, high pitched squeal is a thing of the past now.

M and I watched Survivor last night… it wasn’t a very exciting episode. It takes me a while to get into it, especially at the beginning when I don’t know who any of the people are and don’t really care. But I’m sure my interest will develop over the next few weeks.

It was quite hard to concentrate at work yesterday. I got some stuff done, but I think it took me a bit longer than it usually would. My head just felt so fuzzy, that it was difficult to think logically. Programming is not a good job to try to do when you’re not feeling well! Although, as M said, better that than working with heavy machinery when you’re feeling sick.

I’ve changed my pinging options to ping the sites individually, rather than using pingomatic, which pings all the sites for you. Hopefully it will ping blogrolling this time, which I suspect is the reason my blog didn’t show up as updated on other people’s sites. I had to ping it manually yesterday for it to work. Grrr.

I’ve made some revisions to my Auslan assignment, so I think it will be ready to hand up tomorrow. It’s the last day of term, and then I’m on holidays for two weeks. I also have to do an assessment in class, which was meant to be on Tuesday but I didn’t do because I wasn’t well and stayed home.

I think I’m still having pinging problems. I check weblogs.com after I post, and I’m on the list of updated blogs, but I’m not being shown as being updated on other people’s blogrolls. I have no idea why. Does anyone else use pingomatic to ping after they update? I don’t understand why I’m not being shown as being updated if it’s pinged weblogs.com successfully. How much of a delay is there between pinging and being updated? My last post was 5 hours ago, and still nothing! I’ll check again after I post this to see if it works this time.

Aloe vera tissues are a brilliant invention.

A. Because I’m not posting > 5 posts in a single day. I went a bit nuts yesterday with the posting.

I thought I should come back to work today - if you don’t return with at least some remnant of the illness you were at home with, people think that you were never sick in the first place. Plus I’ve got a couple of things to do over the next two days that would have made staying at home inconvenient.

This cold is playing havoc with my tastebuds and sense of smell - I can’t taste or smell a THING. M bought some orange lollies at the Asian grocer over the road, and I ate one, but then had to ask him if they taste nice. I bought a cheese and tomato sandwich for lunch today - it seems that bread is the only thing I can face eating at the moment. I assume it tasted nice - I have no idea. I should probably use this opportunity to eat some really-good-for-you-but-tastes-terrible food. I bought some herbal ‘make you feel like a new person’ stuff a few months ago, and it tastes disgusting. Really. I gagged when I tried it. How hard is it to put some peppermint essence or something - anything - in there to disguise the taste? Surely it would still be good for you? So maybe I should have some of that, although I suspect that even the most profound loss in sense of taste wouldn’t prevent me from being able to taste that vile concoction.

I finally got around to having my shower. Only 11 and a half hours later than I was planning to have it! I can’t remember the last time I had my daily shower so late in the day. Even though my head’s still stuffed up, getting in the shower made me feel 100 times better. It makes such a huge difference!
