I’m on holidays for two weeks! Yay!!

Because it’s the last Friday of the month, we had end-of-month drinks at work today. So if there are more typos than usual in this post, it’s because my hands aren’t quite working after drinking a glass of wine and a stubby of Pale Ale. Mmm beer. Isn’t it pathetic how such a small amount of alcohol can make me feel a bit tipsy. I’ve never been a big drinker, but I’m sure I used to be able to hold my alcohol better than this! Oh well, I guess I just need more practice

I’m all rugged up in my new pyjamas, slippers and bath robe. My slippers are all cool and springy, like I’m walking on two little sponges. I love new slippers!

Paul’s gone from BB, Jamie and Andrew won The Block, so all is right with the world. Heh, stupid Richard and Steven - I’m glad they didn’t win, although I never thought they had a chance given some of the rooms they did. Gross.

I bought some pyjamas today! And some classy (ie not classy at all) slippers to match. The pyjamas are blue flannelette with a penguin on the pocket, and the slippers are blue too. I never would have pictured myself getting the matching pyjamas/slippers combo… I don’t know what’s got into me. I must be going through a girly phase at the moment. Quite unlike me.

I remember when I was a kid, when I got new pyjamas I couldn’t wait to put them on, even if it were only 4:00 in the afternoon. I feel like that now - I just want to put them on! They’re just so nice and fuzzy and warm. Mmmm. I’m just counting down the hours until it’s an acceptable time to be putting on pyjamas.

We actually had quite a big shopping day today - Myer had a 25% off sale, so we picked up some stuff there. Bargains are always good. It’s my dad’s birthday next weekend, so we looked for a present for him too. I think that’s pretty much sorted now, so that’s good.

I watched Drop Dead Gorgeous tonight on tv. I’ve seen it a couple of times, and I quite like it - it’s a bizarre movie.

I spent ages tonight stuffing around with my templates for my archives and comments. I’m sick to death of farting around with stylesheets and rebuilding files, so hopefully everything works ok, and if not, then I’ll fix it, but probably not tonight! There’s only so much of it I can take in one sitting, especially since I spend every day of the working week staring at code all day.

Not much planned for tomorrow - I haven’t got my pyjamas yet (I can’t remember whether or not I mentioned wanting to get some), so I might go into town and see if I can find something. It’s just so cold at the moment, colder than it usually is here in winter.

Only one week until I’m on leave - hurrah!

I got some mats for my car today… not quite the tailored Probe mats I was hoping to get, but still, $11 from Kmart is a pretty good deal! And considering they turned out to be free, I’m not going to say no to a free set of car mats. I’d like to get some tailor-made ones sometime, but these will probably sit in there for a while. So I vacuumed the car and put them in. They look fine, and they’re definitely better than nothing.

I also discovered a small, perfectly round hole in the back seat. Either someone’s been shot in there (in which case they did a good job of blood cleanup), or it’s a cigarette burn. I like to think that it’s the latter.

Just a whole lot of thoughts that I’m writing down as they come to me, since I don’t think any of them warrant their own post.

OK, so where to start… my car’s going well, I’m really pleased with it. The only problem is that it’s a lot bigger than my previous car, and so I really suck at parking it I need to go out and practise or something - how embarrassing. Anyway, I’ve only got one pic of my car, and I didn’t even take it, but here it is anyway.

I almost bought some pyjamas tonight, but I wasn’t sure whether they were too big or not. I know that probably sounds weird - I mean you should know whether something you try on fits or not. The seams on the shoulders didn’t sit on my shoulders, they were a little way down my arm, and I wasn’t sure whether they were meant to be like that. The top didn’t look as though I was swimming in it, but I’m not sure. So my pyjama quest will have to continue for a little while longer.

I’m annoyed that Ryan got voted out of Big Brother tonight. I don’t think any of the remaining three deserve the money - Bree’s bitchy, Paul’s a prick and Trevor thinks it’s funny to jump out of nowhere and scare people over and over again. Oh well. I just noticed the alliteration there… too bad I didn’t come up with anything for Trevor! I need a word beginning with T that means infantile. Hmmm.

I plucked my eyebrows today. As usual, I got one exactly the way I wanted it, and then fucked up the other one. That’s so annoying.

M and I are going to see Lenny Henry next week - cool! We were going to book the tickets a couple of weeks ago, but the best ones available were towards the back, and I didn’t think it’d be worth it if you could hardly see him. But I had another look at Bass today, and it seems they released some more tickets or something, because they had some available that were quite close to the front. So that’s my Wednesday night sorted! I’m really looking forward to it.

The MS Society is putting on a production of Les Misérables. That is one of my absolute favourite musicals (I know it’s technically an opera, but it just doesn’t seem to fit the style inferred when you mention the word ‘opera’). We might go and see that as well, but I’m not sure.
