I'll have to puree all my food for a week :) As for the metal, it all stems from my paranoia, really :) Since the clear brackets aren't self-ligating, the ligatures are prone to discolouration, and I just know that I'll be paranoid about every single thing I eat, wondering if they're going to become hideously stained from it. I was told that they're easy enough to change, but it may not always be easy to go in to get it done, and I figured that if I just have the metal ones, I can eat whatever I want (within the usual braces constraints), and it's just one less thing to stress about. I didn't want to dread every meal I eat for the next two years! Yes, ouch indeed! I’ll have to puree all my food for a week :)
