…Cabbage Patch Kids? I had two when I was growing up, which I got when I was 10 years old. It just so happens that one of them was ‘born’ on the 15th of July 1986, which makes her 20 years old today. I can’t believe I’m old enough to say that something happened 20 years ago and I wasn’t an infant.
Today we finished painting! I think that maybe one more coat on that huge plastered bit might be good, but it’s not a big deal. Even if we don’t put that extra coat on, it looks so much better now. As a reminder, here is what it looked like before:
And here is how it looks now!
(This is where you make all the ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ noises)
So now all there is to do is fix up the skirting board a little, and have the carpet put in.
A post in this painting series wouldn’t be complete without a cat picture, and so I have a couple more. The first one is when he thought I was going to be giving him some food, but alas it was only a cloth I’d been using to wipe up paint. Still it was worth a try.
M made him a little house, which he started using straight away. I put a carpet square inside it to make it a bit better to lie in. I’m still working on M to let us bring him home, but I don’t think it will work
(M, I know you’re reading this!)
I wonder if he’s lying in it as I type this…

I hope M IS reading this heh.
Okay M, think of that poor little kitty all alone at night, yearning affection, and a nice place to sleep. He’ll be eternally grateful, and you’ll have saved an unwanted, abandoned kitty from the big outside world.
(working yet?)
No? okay
Just think if it were you out there, no mommy or daddy, no-one to stroke your fur, no-one to feed you or keep you warm.. It’s just too much to bear. Take the kitty in, shower him with love and affection, and you can, at least sleep easy knowing that you’ve given a loving home to one of gods less fortunate creatures.
There Jenny, the orange kitty should be with you very soon! lol
Oh, btw, the room looks great! so much better, brighter and more appealing :=)

I’m reading this with my Cabbage Patch Kid in my lap — I kid you not! My son plays with it all the time. I believe she might also be 20 this year … but not until September 8th.

Mandy: Well, if that doesn’t work, nothing will
And thanks, we’re pleased with how it’s turning out as well!
Proud Mum: That’s great! You must be pleased that your son enjoys playing with toys you played with yourself when you were a child.

You HAVE to bring that kitty home! Look at how behaved he is! Just imagine how loving he would be in a nice warm home instead of freezing outside in that nice, but cold cardboard box… (working yet?)

Yaya:
Not yet! We’re asking all round work though, so hopefully we’ll have somewhere for him soon.
