Today my boss and his wife came over for afternoon tea, aka drinking two bottles of wine and eating lots of cheese and nuts and chocolate and stuff. It was quite nice, and now I’m feeling quite happy, so if there are any typos, that’s why.
As you probably know, they’re going overseas at around the same time as we are, so we spent a lot of time talking about what we’re doing and things we want to see. It’s good to be able to talk about holidays with someone who’s going on one as well, since people who aren’t going anywhere probably don’t give a rats and don’t want to know. So it’s made me even more excited about going. HOLY JETLAG BATMAN, IN TWO WEEKS WE’LL BE IN LONDON!
So it was a nice visit. We’ve been living in this place for 2 years and our boss still hadn’t seen it, so we thought we should probably invite them over.
After they left, we finished off the remaining wine and watched a video of Las Vegas that M bought when he was there around 5 years ago. It was pretty cool, although a lot of the video seemed to be taken up with buildings imploding to make way for newer buildings. Not that I mind imploding buildings - cool. I hope we get to see one when we’re there.
Other than that, today was pretty uneventful. Oh, I went shopping before the boss came, to buy stuff to have for afternoon tea, and I wanted to get a cake or something to have with coffee. I went to the supermarket, then went to the bakery, only to find that it was closed due to holdup. Lovely. Oh well, the cheese and stuff we had was very nice indeed.

The new season of Survivor started here on Friday night. We missed the first 20 minutes because we forgot it was on, and had dinner at a Mexican restaurant on the way home (mmm Mexican). I was surprised to see Bobby Jon there, thinking that if anyone deserved a second chance, it was Stephenie. And then, there she was! I’m so glad she’s in it again, I thought she was so cool.
I’m sure I had other stuff to say, but I can’t quite remember what it was, so I’ll leave it there for now. Mmm wine.
Oh, I bought a totally cool birthday present for M about a month ago. His birthday’s not until December, but I saw it in August and thought it would be good so I got it. I can’t say here what it is because he reads my blog, but it is cool, and he thought he found it today when he was tidying up, but he actually didn’t. Heh heh. It’s really hard when you buy a really excellent present for someone but then have to keep it a secret. Only 4 months of secrecy to go.

Who is Bobby Jon? Sounds like some guy from the US South….
How are you feeling about your vacation? It usually goes from feeling excited to nervous, etc, and then when the plane leaves the gate and takes off, you feel a natural high. Or that’s how it is for me, at least.

Fashmagslag: I don’t really know anything about Bobby Jon, only that he was on the last series and was given another chance to win. As for the holiday, I can’t wait! Talking about it yesterday definitely made me more excited. Unfortunately I’ll have to fly to Sydney by myself and meet M there because he has to be over there for work, so it’s disappointing I won’t be able to start the holiday off with him, but I definitely get that natural high when the plane takes off - I love it!

I’m sure the ’survivor’ I’m thinking of isn’t the same ’survivor’ that you’re talking about. In fact I’m sure it isn’t lol (showing my age here) lol
It’s so difficult hiding presents from people, maybe you shouldn’t have mentioned it at all, then he’d have no idea

Mandy: Maybe not!
I couldn’t resist telling him that I’d bought it, but there’s no way he’ll discover it by accident
