The most organised I’ve ever been
Mmm… a custard tart and a cup of coffee - what a nice way to start the day.
Speaking of coffee: last weekend in our pile of junk mail, we got a catalogue for David Jones, which is a department store here. In it they had a picture of a USB mug warmer with a mug, and I thought I’d get one for my dad for Fathers’ Day, which is on Sunday week (I know - how forward thinking of me!). So before tafe last Tuesday, I popped into the store to get one, but they’d sold out
The woman there rang another store, but they’d sold out as well.
I was really annoyed, because it’s a very rare occurrence that I have any sort of idea what to buy my father on gift-giving occasions, and it looked like I’d have to think of something else. But then I thought I’d have a look around online to see if I could find one, and I ended up finding a very similar one to the one in David Jones, but without the mug. It was on eBay - I really hope it works. I was just pleased to find one. So now I have the mug warmer sorted, I just have to buy a nice-looking mug to go with it.
I can’t believe that I’ve actually sorted out his Fathers’ Day present without tearing my hair out over what to buy. He is so hard to buy for. I hope he’s not reading this, otherwise he’ll just have to act surprised when I give him his present.

hmmm, that looks interesting. I got my mom one of those, but it just plugs into the wall, not the computer.
buying for my dad is impossible too. I swear the man doesn’t have anything in the way of interests, which doesn’t help me at all!

Awwww … your Dad will definitely like it! I know I want one! I think I’ve seen it before on some catalogue, but I can’t seem to remember right now. That will be so perfect for travelling! But, a USB port does not really give out that much power, so I don’t know about the effectivity though? But if you really think about it now? I wonder what electrical device they can think of that can be plugged into a USB port
LOL I’m being nasty! SORRY!
But you’re such a good daughter!

So will the mug charger heat any old mug, or does it have to specially made to fit in the warmer? When are you leaving for vacation, btw?

Dawn: My dad just says ‘I haven’t thought about it yet’ whenever I ask him what he wants, so now I don’t ask! But then when we don’t ask, he thinks we know what we’re getting him, when really we have no idea.
Groove: It remains to be seen how well it will work… hopefully well enough! It’s more of a novelty than anything else, but I hope it is at least a little bit useful. I’ll ignore that second bit
Fashmagslag: Yes, it will heat any mug - it should fit most standard-sized ones. I just wanted to get him an aluminium mug since I thought that would be the most efficient - if Groove’s right and it doesn’t put out that much heat, I want to give what heat there is as much chance as possible! Not long till our holiday now - 5 weeks!

She: Same here!
Nicole: I’m here to serve
I love custard tarts too - I only started eating them a few years ago. Before then, my dad always used to have them when I was growing up, and because of that I thought it was a cake that only men had! Kids come to the weirdest conclusions!
Yaya: Thankyou! It’s virtually never this easy though - the catalogue came at the right time.
