I’ve added something I think is really cool. As some of you may remember, I’m studying Auslan (Australian Sign Language), and I found a fingerspelling font! So what I’ve done is put the day of the week above each post in the new font. I also changed it so that the day of the post is written there, so you don’t have to look at a calendar to see which day is being spelled out. Anyway, I thought it was kind of cool!
Banks suck! I deposited some change (around $60 worth) into my credit card account last weekend, and I found out today that I got charged a $5 ‘coin handling’ fee! I was NOT impressed, since M had bagged it all up in those little bank bags, so all they had to do was weigh it and empty the money out later. So I wrote them an email complaining about it, since the teller didn’t tell me that I was going to be charged almost 10% of the amount I deposited, just for them to empty a couple of bags. I didn’t really expect anything to be done, but later on, a woman rang me and said that they were going to refund the fee. Yeah! See, it pays to complain if you’re pissed off.
Oh, and for some reason I’m not sure of, I can’t seem to be able to post comments on some blogs with Haloscan. I don’t know whether it’s me or not (probably is), but the window doesn’t pop up!
But I will be back to try again!

I doubt it’s you…..haloscan has been having many problems lately. It seems they are frequently closed for maintenance, or my favorite, when you click publish and it ‘eats’ the comment.

coin-handling fee? wtf? Those greedy bastards! No wonder I haven’t stepped foot inside a bank in nearly 5 years. The least amount of contact with them, the better. And with the advent of internet banking, don’t even have to go to the ATM nearly as often.

Ditto with Steph.
The last time I let a banker handle my coins (oh, that sounds so wrong!) was about 10 years ago because of the same reason. And when I was unemployed, that added up.
Keep your small change. It becomes real handy for food & drink machines when you don’t want to leave the office. Being Adelaide, that happens quite a lot.

banks really are crap, any excuse to charge you for something tiny really… loving the font… tho hard to make out, or maybe it’s just the fact i don;t have my specs on yet

I can’t remember the last time I actually had to deal with a teller. I do almost everything through the ATM. Love the Auslan!

Fash: Yeah, I used to get annoyed with Haloscan, but I figure it can’t be entirely their fault because the blogs I try to comment on, but can’t, have other comments there, so obviously SOME people can do it!
Steph: I know, it’s crap! Next time we’ll just put it in a different account that doesn’t charge those ridiculous fees.
Z: All the more reason for me to get rid of my change, I think - otherwise I’d just spend all day raiding the junk food area at work
Missfee: Totally agree! I’m glad you like the font… yeah I know it’s a bit small, I might try to make it a bit bigger and see how it looks.
Yaya: Me too re the ATM, but unfortunately I couldn’t get out of human contact this time!

It does pay to complain. Did you hear about the NAB overcharging customers in the millions…now they have to pay them back, I’m sure they only found their error because someone complained

I just stumbled upon this blog, after finding myself on a list of Adelaide bloggers and the looking at a random selection of others.
I have to ask this question, and please don’t take it the wrong way, but ummm… are you my wife?
The posts in here are just a little too spookily simillar, that’s all!!!!

Kunaal: Yes, I did hear about that. Stupid banks.
Kev: Hahaha - no, I’m not your wife! Do you suspect she has a blog that she’s keeping secret from you?

are you using some type of pop-up blocker???
and coin-handling fee? that’s bogus. if people gave me all of their coins? I’d be happy to handle them for FREE.

I am, Dawn, but even after I turned all that off and made sure I had the latest version of my browser, it still wouldn’t let me. I even tried a different browser but no luck >:|
Me too - maybe we should start our own bank
