The only place we’re going that there are touristy things I definitely want to do, is London, even though I did most of them the last time. It’ll be different this time, though, because it was a long time ago and there is so much that I have forgotten. And the London Eye wasn’t there last time - I think that will be pretty cool.
All the other places (particularly Ireland and New York), I don’t really care what I do, I just want to be there. I’ve been dying to go to Ireland for years, and I am so excited about finally being able to go to Dublin, and drive around the beautiful Irish countryside. Sigh.
Have you heard of those ‘Day in the Life’ books? If not, it’s where a whole team of photographers go to different parts of a country on the same day, take lots of photos of the people, surroundings etc, and then they collate all the photos and make a book out of it as a snapshot of what was happening in that country on that day. My mum has ‘A Day in the Life of Ireland’ and the pictures in there are just magnificent. I might have to steal her book and look at it a few times before we go. I’ve never had such a strong desire to go anywhere as I do to go to Ireland.

Awesome! So that’s where you’re going on your vacation. I’ve never been to Europe, and with these dollar/euro exchange rates, I’m unlikely to go anytime soon. I hope you’ll take a lot of pics! You know how I am with pics

As jealous as I am of your upcoming holiday, DAMN GIRL, that’s a lot of flying!! Flying from PA to Las Vegas a couple weeks ago was stressful and tiring enough for me!! I can’t even imagine it! How many hours are you going to be on a plane total?

I love London- it’s probably my second favorite city in the world
Dublin, well, I think you know how i feel about it, and there is the old expression, ‘if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all’…not that I’ve ever paid much attention to that

Steph: There will be stacks of pictures - I’m already looking into buying a couple of extra SD cards so I don’t have to worry about running out of space
Yaya: Don’t worry, I will!
Dawn: I know, I’m going to be absolutely buggered when I get home! Ummm… at a guess, I think it’ll be 60-70 hours flying maybe? :O
Fash: You don’t like Dublin? Never mind, to each their own

I lived in London for a while, but that was when I was about two, because my grandparents worked there…..the only thing I remember about that place is playing with a tortoise at a friends place

Kunaal: I wouldn’t expect you to remember much from when you were 2! I went to Melbourne on holiday with my family when I was 2, and I there’s only one photo from the trip that I can remember being taken.
Pauly D: Good idea - maybe we’d discover that kangaroos lead a much more exciting existence than we may have thought…
Dawn: Me too! I get bored flying to Sydney, and that’s only 2 hours!
At least I’ll have my own little tv to watch - I’m quite looking forward to that
