I hate having short legs. I dropped off some pants and skirts today to have them taken up and it’s going to cost $94 altogether. Sigh. Never mind, I’m really looking forward to wearing the pants - I’ve had them for ages and they are just way too long to try to get away with wearing, so I haven’t worn them yet. When I get them back I can finally throw away my awful pair of black pants that I wear to work. I always seem to wear things until they’re way beyond being publically acceptable. I hate clothes shopping.

That’s quite a lot of money just to have some clothes taken up. :-/
I wear high heels which means no problem with the pants! Yes I cheat, I know! lol

Yes, it does add up! And I wear high heels too, but it doesn’t make any difference

ack! it ate my comment! what I said was…
that does suck!! that’s a lot of dough. I don’t understand why female pants aren’t like male pants - a waist size and a length size. It makes much more sense!!

It does make sense, Dawn! I think Target has pants with different leg lengths, but they’re the only ones I’ve seen

there really is nothing acceptable about half mast trousers… especially when under a half mast leg is a white sock or gasp, a bare ankle…

“EIIAAA”!!!
That’s what I had to enter, in order to leave this comment.
have you ever tried rolling up your pants?

$94!!!??? Holy mack! Although I also have very short legs, I guess I don’t need to have things tailored to fit. My faves are GAP ankle length jeans, which fit like normal jeans on me. So sad.

$94??!! Just how many pants are you having done??!! But you know what? I feel you though. Since I lost a lot of weight, I didn’t want to throw out my quality pants, so I had them all fixed. It beats buying more pants, right?

True, groove. It seems no one repairs things anymore–especially shoes, for instance! The Shoe Repair shop is going the way of the typewriter, it seems.

Missfee: Well, I’ll never have that problem!
Johnnie: Sometimes the codes are a bit weird! No, I haven’t rolled them up
Steph: Yes, I know it’s a lot
It adds up pretty quickly, unfortunately. And you’re right about repairing, people usually just buy new stuff. I try to get my shoes re-heeled when it’s needed though - like my clothes, I wear my shoes until the sole and the upper are hanging on by a thread
Groove: There are 2 pairs of pants, which have to be hand done (which is why they cost more), a couple of skirts to be taken up, and a few dresses to be mended. There are 8 things altogether I think. So it averages out ok
I know what you mean about not wanting to throw away your pants - I have lost some weight since I bought the pants, and I’m having one pair taken in a little. I haven’t even worn them yet, and they’re already a bit big!

I would say why not just wear skirts, but then I realized that it’s almost winter for you
