I was watching Trading Spouses tonight (adapted from the British series Wife Swap - the original’s always the best
), and one of the families had really bratty kids - constantly bickering, the older one terrorising the younger one, and both of them whining if they didn’t get their own way. It just reminded me how much I hate kids like that, especially when the parent doesn’t do anything to stop it. The mother was just watching it all happen. They say they don’t like it when a stranger comes in and tries to discipline their kids, but hey - you obviously don’t know how to do it, so why not let someone else have a try. You might actually learn something. I hate it when people think their bratty kids are cute, and that their unruly behaviour is somehow endearing - ‘awww look at those kids’ - IT’S NOT. Control your damn kids!
At the moment we’re watching a show about people who have been injured during various sporting pursuits. One of them was a man who was gored at a bullriding event. I really don’t have much sympathy for the guy. Sure, it’s awful what happened to him, but he knew before he went in what the risks are, what might happen, but he did it anyway. Idiot.

We have that show here too, not the original one though as the whole thing is french but i do agree with you. I really hate it when parents cant discipline their kids. I mean, u cant just sit and watch the whole action without doing nothing. There should be schools for parents! lol

Glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t feel bad for people who participate in extremely dangerous events and then want sympathy when they get hurt. I see stuff like that on Real TV all of the time and all I think is, “That’s what happens when you try to jump a building with your car, DUMBASS!”
And they’re always like, “I can’t wait until I’m all healed up so I can try it again”.

Wouldn’t it be funny if one of those kids got bitch slapped?

QM: Exactly… there are some people who should not be allowed to have kids, it’s a shame that they were given the chance to when more deserving people can’t.
Dawn: Yeah, I watch Real TV as well! Maybe that’s what the show was, I have no idea. But I agree with you. What morons.
Kymmie: The ‘dad’ (it was the dads who swapped families in this episode) looked pretty pissed off, and I thought he was going to do something, but he didn’t. Bummer - I was dying for him to yell at them or something! I think he did tell one of the kids off, but the kid just told him to shut up - trash.

I agree kids like that irratate me to no end. I took care of my nieces and nephews for nine years and whenever they heard my mad voice they new I meant business, All I had to do was slowly and seriosly say their full name and they would quit whatever they were doing. I can’t stand it when parents don’t control their kids.

Sounds like my kids, but I wouldn’t be just standing there watching, I would be running behind them. Them run for they’re lives.

bratty kids are the worst…i think parents need to say no…cause then they grow up and become totally self-indulging & conceited adults!! sorry, just dealing with bratty adults….ick.

Exactly - that’s all you have to do - have the ‘I mean business’ voice, and half your problems are solved!
Good on you, Lynn, kids need a good dose of fear every now and then
You’re right, MM, bratty kids make for bratty adults… at least you have a chance of modifying their behaviour when they’re young. When they’re grown, you’ve got no chance.
