I haven’t seen any gymnastics during the Olympic Games, other than that I saw reflected in the window of a restaurant I went to a week or so ago. I’m finally getting to see some tonight, but it’s men’s. Oh well. The poor Russian guy on vault stuffed up both of them royally, and it looks like his landings would have hurt a bit. Poor guy, I hate watching it when gymnasts hurt themselves - it reminds me of the days I use to hurt myself
I can’t help but cringe.
There are two commentators, and one of them is a bit of a doofus - the lady is a former gymnast, so at least she can add something worthwhile, but the guy obviously has no real idea about gymnastics at all, and either agrees with whatever the woman says, or just repeats what she says, but in a slightly different way. They may as well just get rid of him!

God bless incompetent commentators! The source of some of the most hilarious unintentional comedy on TV today!

Rhythm gymnastics crack my shit up! Where they prance around with ribbons and balls and stuff. It just looks silly.
And I agree, the commentators need to chill the hell out! Mostly, I just want to Olympic drop-kick them.

I love gymnastics. I was pretty good when I was younger! But then “things” started growing (well, sort of) and that messed up my whole game!! I still love to watch it on tv though.

have missed most of the gymnastics although some crazy almost freestyle stuff performed by very prepubescent girls… have also thankfully missed the women’s weightlifting in the main part tho i did turn it on and think i was watching men’s. scary stuff these chicks with man muscles…

Yeah, the commentators always crack me up. I get really annoyed at our diving commentator - she is soooooo nitpicky! someone does a 9.0 dive and she’s back on the instant replay showing how their feet were not fully flat.

Isn’t that the point of the Olympics?? People who had no chance of making it are commenting on those actually there

Yeah dude, I took gymnastics classes ’til about 5th grade, when I hit 5 feet tall and they realized I wasn’t gonna stop growing. That’s about when the lack of coordination kicked in too.
