I drove M’s car for the first time today. It’s the first manual car I’ve driven since I learnt to drive a manual. It feels a lot different to my car (well derr!), but it was good.
Today M rang up about a car that we saw advertised online, but it had been sold on Saturday. I wasn’t too bothered by it, as I can’t really imagine myself driving an AU Falcon. Plus, I really don’t want an automatic car - I like driving manuals.

EVERYONE drives manuals here! When you take lessons that’s what you drive in. I don’t know a single person who drives an automatic so here in Holland you would be considered ‘normal’.
Hmmmm, is it me or did that just come out a bit odd???

I learnt to drive in an automatic, and then made sure I learnt to drive a manual later. A friend of mine is working in Holland at the moment and she had to learn to drive a manual when she bought her car. Are there not many automatics in Holland or something?

Hey, thanks for checking out my blog!! From reading yours, it sounds like you are really into cars. I’d really like a new Volkswagen Passat, but I live in New York City and rent is soooo expensive here so it’s just not worth it. I drive a 8 year old Honda, but at the end of the summer, I plan on leaving it at my mom’s house in the suburbs, as paying for the garage is a waste of money since public transportation is very good here, and is 24 hours.
Here, most people drive automatic, and while I can technically drive stick shift, I’m VERY bad at it. Well, I can’t believe I’m actually up this early. Take care, and I plan on coming back ^_^

There aren’t many automatics here, no. The standard is stick shift here.
